Since I am staying on Campus over the big Holiday break this year I was invited to a dinner to meet some of the wives of the Professors who I have for my classes. I volunteered to help with a few charity things so I do not get bored out of my mind over the break. One of the things I will be doing is making up Holiday boxes for those who need a little help getting food on their tables. I might be a total bitch most of the time, but I do firmly believe in helping out those who do not have what people like I have. I do not do it out of guilt, I do it out of genuine care.
I walked into the room at the Restaurant and most of the women stopped talking to look at me. For a moment I thought I was at the wrong place, when I saw one of my friends stand up and smile at me. She walked over to me and whispered, “They did the same thing to me.” I sat next to her and after everyone stopped staring at me we got down to business. After the business part was out of the way we ordered dinner and drinks. I tried to order a drink and one of the women said, “Oh no, these girls will be having non-alcoholic drinks only.”

I was trying everything I could not to laugh as she was getting louder and louder.
By this time others in the restaurant were looking at us, the other women there were trying to get her to shut up. My friend and I were just sitting there calmly drinking our illegal drinks. Sipping away, enjoying it. She started to say that we were not the type of girls she wanted to be associated with. I told her, “Then leave.” That was the breaking point.
